For the month of March we stay in the city of Cleveland Ohio and present to you Rev. Esqulaira LeSure & The Christian Brothers. For over 20 years The Christian Brothers have been spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ all over the land. However this CD entitled "Heal The Land" is their first recording. At this year's American Gospel Quartet Convention artist showcase the Brothers received the extremely hard to obtain perfect score of 25 on their 10-minute showcase. Not only do these young men have a powerful sound, but they are deeply rooted in the Word of God. With three preachers in the group these young men are setting an example by living the life they sing about. Currently the Christian Brothers are searching for a record label home but in the meantime they have put together one of the most powerful projects I've heard in a while entitled "Heal The Land".

With a mixture of great arrangements and plenty of original compositions the Brothers sound is gaining attention in the quartet industry. The majority of the songs are lead by Rev. Esqulaira LeSure with occasional leads by Rev. Leneal Nash. These men of God are powerful vocalist with a very humble spirit. Unlike many artists who speak of only their achievements and accolades the Christian Brothers are well aware that God is worthy of all the praise. The CD features 10 selections that carry the Word of God in song. With an industry laden with artists singing songs with weak messages this project is a welcome relief to all Quartet fans.

Like many projects previously reviewed on Gloryland Gospel this is yet another CD full of potential hits. The first selection entitled "Friend In Need" is a mid-tempo testimonial giving praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. One can't help but notice the perfect level of instrumental accompaniment with the vocals on this and every other song. One of my favorite songs is yet another song with a message "God Is Able". The song begins with Rev. LeSure talking about the deliverance of the 3 Hebrew boys in the fiery furnace. The song then trots along to the chatter of the drummer's cymbals and powerful background vocals. "New Home" takes the listener back to the old time quartet sound. With a simple guitar strum Rev. LeSure drags into this beautiful selection weaving through the sweet harmonic moans of the Brothers. Just to show how powerful this project is the aforementioned selections are just the first three songs on the CD. By far my favorite song on the CD is the Christian Brothers arrangement of "Need of Prayer". This 7-minute ballad is so smooth that you wish it would last another 7 minutes. All in all this is one of the best projects I have heard in a long time. The production is nothing short of professional. Many nationally distributed CD's would be put to shame by this CD in respect to production. I give The Christian Brothers "Heal The Land" a 10 out of 10. You may obtain this project by e-mailing Rev.
