This month we review the new
release from The Disciples.
You may be wondering who are The Disciples?
Well, they are the group formerly know as The
Singing Disciples. During the 90's this
group had four (4) outstanding projects. They were Rock, Solid Rock, Reach
Out, and Live In Baltimore. The four projects were on the Atlanta
International Records label.
The group has a new CD and a
new name. The new CD is titled Change. Reflective of their
desire to minister the Word in song, the group has changed their name to
The Disciples.
The current members of the
group are Jack Branch, Melvin "Kym" Derr, Paul I. Houston, Dana L. Houston,
Robert Evans, and Marvin Johnson. Just looking at the names you will realize
that the core group from The Singing Disciples
makes up The Disciples.
If there was ever a group
deserving of all of the recognition that comes with being an outstanding
national recording artist, this is the group. Their new recording will have you
praising God, shedding tears, jumping for joy, stumping your feet, and clapping
your hands. This project has something for everyone.
The first thing you will notice when you put this CD in the player is the energy
that the group brings to the project. Secondly, you will notice that the group
has stayed true to their roots Traditional Gospel Quartet Music, with updated
and new arrangements. And probably most importantly, you will realize that this
project really ministers to you.
The production on this project is great. But, you would expect it to be when
you realize that Apostle Timothy Moore was the producer.
The Disciples released
this project on Apostle Moore's label - Priesthood Recording Company. The songs
on this recording are "Lets Have Church,"
"Changed Man," "Long Time Comin,"
"Make It
In," "Call
Jesus," "Just Want To Thank You," "Call
Jesus (reprise),"
"Where You Stand," "Camping Ground,"
"To The Cross,"
"Step Right In," and "Where You Stand (reprise)."
You certainly will want to add this
CD to your collection. This CD will definitely minister the Word to you. It is a great traditional gospel music project.
You should be able to purchase this
CD at your local record store. You can also purchase the CD by clicking on
Change. We give
The Disciples'
Change a 9.5
out of 10. Click on the title to hear a clip of "Changed
Man."
