In just about every hamlet, town, community, city and parish there are gospel groups and
singers spreading the Good News in song. So, there should be no surprise that in
the community of Willacoochee, Georgia, there is a gospel quartet group that
love to sing praises to Our Lord and Savior. They are Brothers & Sisters.
This group has recorded under several names,
Brothers & Sisters . . . with Elder Troy Jackson . .. of Willacoochee, GA,
Rev. Troy Jackson with Brothers & Sisters,
and simply
Brothers & Sisters.
As the names suggest this is a family group. The members are Elder Troy Jackson,
Elder Evelyn Jackson Williams, Ethel Jackson Robinson, Martha Jackson Carswell,
Dr. Andrew Jackson, Alice Jackson Lane, Elder Ricky Jackson, and Mary C. Jackson
Hall. Look closely and you will see that there are several members are
ministers. So, expect this CD to minister to you.
There new project is Live In Willacoochee. The recording
occurred on Sunday, September 3, 2006. It was released earlier this year. The guest artists on this recording
are saxophonist
Rev. Al & Pashion Lewis,
Percy Griffin
of
The Swanee Quintet,
and
Marla.
After a resounding introduction by the emcee, Sister Blanche Goodson, the group
moved into "Everyday With Jesus."
The opening to this song says “everyday with Jesus is sweeter than the day
before.” The group brings this song to life with the joy in their voices.
This song is also on the group’s Christmas CD titled It's That Time Of
Year. This is followed by
"One
Day At A Time." Percy Griffin joins the group on this song. The
crowded wanted him to sing. And, he did not disappoint them on this song.
The next song is "Everything Will Be Alright." The Sisters
provide exceptional background vocals on this song. This is definitely the drive
song of the project. The performance slows down with "He's Alright
With Me."
"Up Pops The Devil" is next. The song begins with a five
minute Sermonette. Thereafter, the group rejoices with the audience in
singing this song, which was certainly written with audience participation in
mind.
On "I Can Do All Things" the Sisters share lead duties. The
recording closes with "Oh Lord, Have Mercy." The song served as
the Altar Call and Benediction for the close of services.
As reflected above, there are actually only seven
songs on this project. However, there is over fifty minutes of music on
this project. "Up Pops The Devil" is divided into three
tracks, "One Day at A Time" is divided into two tracks, and "Everything
Will Be Alright" is divided into two tracks.
This project was produced by
Eric Sharper of Dream
Reality Production. Eric is well know for being a producer that allows the
artist to be themselves. In other words, he does not try to make them sound like
someone else. He certainly applied that principle to this recording.
Finally, there is a DVD in the works for
this recording. The video will add to the Live recording experience.
Overall this is a very good project by
Brothers & Sisters. You should be able to find
this CD in your local record store. We give
