Margaret "Babe" Allison & The Angelics

Touch Me Again

On July 30, 2008, the renowned Margaret “Babe” Allison entered into eternal rest.  What a singer she was.  She represented gospel music with the charisma and charm that is yet to be duplicated.  She was a pillar of strength and always had an encouraging word.  She conveyed words of encouragement, hope, and, most importantly, reminders of the road to salvation through her songs.  Those words are certainly present in her last CD titled Touch Me Again.

The CD was released on May 20, 2008.  The producer for this project was Darrell Luster, of
The Sensational Nightingales.  Mr. Luster is featured on three (3) of the songs.

Diehard fans of Ms. Allison will readily recognize that her voice is not as strong on this project as on previous recordings.  However, they will also realize that this CD is one to be treasured.

On the first song, “Don’t Let Him Catch You With Your Work Undone,” Mr. Luster and Ms. Allison share lead duties.  It almost sounds like they are being backed up by The Sensational Nightingales.

“Thank You For My Storms” is the next song.  The song reminds us that our ‘storms’ are God’s opportunities to work miracles in our lives.  This ballad is one of the best on the CD.  It may not get much airplay because it is also the longest song on the CD.

“When The Gates Swing Wide” is another song that features Darrell Luster.  As with each of the songs on which Mr. Luster is featured, he shares lead duties with Ms. Allison.  Theresa Richmond can certainly be heard in the background.

“I Shall Know Him” has the arrangement of “It Could Have Been The Other Way.”  As you listen to this song, it will not be lost on the listener that it embodies her transition from earth to glory.  Listen closely to the words.

“God Has A Use For Me” was written by Spanky Williams.  "God Said It" was written by Theresa Richmond and she sings lead on this song.  The arrangement to "Pass Me Not" is quite unique.  This is followed by "Touch Me Again."

“He’s Not Through With Me Yet” is followed by the upbeat "Homecoming."  The instrumentation on "Homecoming" will have you thinking about some of the great guitarists that have come through MALACO; such as Val, JoJo, Bobby McDougle and Maurice Morgan.

“Work On Me” is another song that was lead by Theresa. The project closes with “I’m On The Battlefield For The Lord.” What an appropriate song to close the last recording by this legend.

The historic nature of this project cannot be emphasis enough.  The last recording by any artist is sure to garner interest, but in the gospel quartet genre this one generate interest from many years.

This is a great project and should be in your collection.  If you like traditional gospel quartet music you do not want to regret not getting this CD.  We give
Margaret “Babe” Allison & The Angelics’ Touch Me Again a 9 out of 10.  Click HERE to purchase the CD.  Click on the title to hear "God Has A USe For Me.
