Have you heard of
The EchoAires?
Have you ever picked up a CD and from the first song to the last all you can
say is WOW! Well, if you have not heard of
The EchoAires,
take a moment and let us introduce them to you. If you have not heard
their new CD you are denying yourself great gospel music. If you have
heard of these guys, then you know they are on their way to minister in song to
the World. That is why we chose to review their new CD
Transformation Live In Memphis, TN.
Imagine, if you will, having a group of guys that can sing, as well as write
songs and are great musicians. Add to that mix the ‘producer’ talents of
George Dean (of The
Gospel Four) and guest
appearances by Pastor
Roney Strong, Lisa
Knowles and Debra Mitchell. And, what you get is one of the best
recordings to be released, thus far, in 2009.
The EchoAires
hale from Moscow, TN. The group began in 1993. The current members
are John Chandler, Courtney Clark, Cedric Conner, Joseph Johnson, Stephen
Lewis, Gabrieal Mason, and Barry Turner. Joseph Johnson can be heard as
the lead singer on nine of the songs, and Stephen Lewis is the lead singer on
the remaining songs.
As reflected in the title of the CD, this is a LIVE recording. Meaning, you get
to hear the group in concert. And, as with most concerts, the CD begins
with an Introduction. The Intro is delivered by the incomparable Mr.
James Chambers. The groups then move smoothly through thirteen songs. Not
counting the Intro, there are actually fourteen (14) tracks on the CD, with "Lord
You Brother Me Through" having a Reprise. The songs, in
the order of performance, are "That's Enough," "All You
Need To Know," "Time Is Now," "I Got Shoes,"
"Never Alone (featuring Debra Mitchell)," "Can't Nobody Do
Me Like Jesus," "Just Jesus And Me (featuring Lisa
Knowles)," "Get Your House In Order," "Run On
(featuring Pastor Roney Strong)," "Stand By Me Jesus," "I
Found Jesus," "Lord You Brought Me Through," "Lord
You Brought Me Through - Reprise (featuring George Dean)," and "I
Found Love In Jesus."
There is something on this CD everyone. If you are looking for Praise and
Worship, listen to "Lord You Brought Me Through." If you
are looking for a great drive song, there are 3, "I Got Shoes," "I
Found Jesus" and "Can't Nobody Do Me Like Jesus."
If you are looking for a ballad with a message listen to "Time Is Now,"
"Stand By Me" or Stephen Lewis and Lisa Knowles on "Just Jesus
and Me." If you are looking for a song that speaks to life’s up and
down listen to "All U Need To Know," or Joseph Johnson and Debra
Mitchell on "Never Alone." If you are looking for a song
with tight background harmony, listen to "Run On," which is led
by Johnson and Pastor Roney Strong. And, if you are just looking for good
gospel music, listen to the entire CD.
Transformation is the group’s third CD. Their previous recordings
are It's a Miracle and Determined to Make It.
Determined was the group’s first LIVE recording. It was
recorded live in Slayden, MS. The title to the current CD.
Transformation, begs for a reflection on its possible meaning to the
group. It also call us to look at the position of this group in the
gospel music industry.
Transformation is defined as
“a complete change, usually into something with an improved appearance or
usefulness.” Fans, and soon to be fans, will readily recognize that
The Echoaires
had little to improve upon. However, with this CD, they have moved from
being a local or regional group to one on the national scene. So, the
"complete change" for this group is the move to another level. Soon other
groups will be championing the fact that they appeared on the same program with
The EchoAires.
And, these guys rightfully deserve the accolades that are sure to come their
way as a result of this new CD. After all, when you call upon George Dean to
produce a Live Recording, you expect nothing but the best. Mr. Dean has been a
key personnel in each of the LIVE recordings by
Lee Williams & The Spiritual QC’s.
With a stellar track record already to his credit, you know Mr. Dean knows how
to bring the best out of a group. And,
The EchoAires
did not disappoint with Transformation Live In Memphis, TN.
We really like this project and
believe you will. You will want to add this CD to your collection.
In fact, you may want to contact the group and acquire their earlier recordings
as well as the new CD.
This release from
The EchoAires is an outstanding gospel quartet
project.
We give The EchoAires'
Transformation Live In Memphis, TN
