This month?s review takes us back
to a project that was released two (2) years ago. In March 2003 Juana Records
released Too Close To The Mirror by
Eddie Ruth Bradford.
The song became a national sensation and was one of the best recordings of that
year. The song launched the exceptionally talented Ms. Bradford on to the
national stage.
In February 2006, Juana released the CD by Ms. Bradford titled Saved By
Grace. In August 2006, Juana released the concept video of two
(2) songs recorded by Ms. Bradford. They are "Too Close To The Mirror"
and from the Saved By Grace CD, "You Held On Even When I
Let Go."
You Held On Even When I Let Go
The message behind the song "You
Held On Even When I Let Go" is that even though we may give up sometime
God is still holding on to us. In other words, we just need to turn to
Him no matter what the situation.
The actors are outstanding. Marital
discord, bills overdue, foreclosure, attempted suicide, soldiers returning from
the war, trouble with family members, they all are reflected in this video.
And, the message is clear ? just turn to God. The dominate setting for
the video is fantastic ? Mynelle Gardens, Jackson, MS is a beautiful place.
And, it provides the ideal scenery for Ms. Bradford's stroll through the park
as she sings this song. After the video ends the actors convey what was
going on in their portrayal of the various events many experience in life.
This is a very powerful video.
The quality of the sound is outstanding. There are no variations in the
recording level. The lighting is great. The cameras are focused
just where they need to be throughout the song. Therefore, you get to
truly enjoy the message being conveyed by this song.
Too Close To The Mirror
If you like this song you will really like the video. This portion of the
video begins with Ms. Bradford in the Terminal Recording Studio recording "Too
Close To The Mirror." You get to experience the entire song being
recorded in the studio. There is a great shot at the Jackson International
Airport where the Jackson Stepperettes Dance Team greats Ms. Bradford.
From there the video moves to a well attended CD signing at Metro Center Mall,
Jackson, MS. The video ends with Ms. Bradford back in the studio.
Again, the lighting is suburb.
The sound quality is outstanding. There are no variations in the
recording level.
Another extraordinary aspect to the video are the three (3) interviews of Mr.
Frederick Knight. In one, he explains the message, he had in mind, of the
song "Too Close To The Mirror."
The video is an outstanding representative of great traditional gospel music.
In addition, each song will minister to you. If you are looking for good video
that captures the essence of good gospel music with a message then you will
want to add this video to your collection. You will find yourself watching them
over and over.
This video is a hidden treasure and should be in your collection. We give the video
